Loureiro Tasting - Quinta do Ameal

Following on from the national and international success of the Ameal wines a new project has been created at our Quinta in Ponte de Lima, the brand new “Ameal Wine & Tourism Terroir”.

The refurbishment of several old houses already existing on the property was completed in May 2014. These houses and suites are completely equipped and decorated to take advantage of every comfort without having to leave the Quinta.  A real luxury with much organic simplicity 

Quinta do Ameal covers a total of 30 hectares set within granite walls and in which a little less than half, 12 hectares, are planted with totally organic vines that produce exceptional grapes for the production of our wines : the Ameal “Clássico”, “Escolha”, “Espumante” and “Special Harvest”.  

The remaining land is a unique and fantastic forest covering 8 hectares which includes a large variety of trees amongst which 200 year old pine and oak trees, beautiful gardens and more than 800 metres of the River Lima. Within this superb and idyllic space visitors can stay and relax taking advantage of all of the positive energy available at the Ameal Wine & Tourism Terroir.

The surrounding area offers a variety of other activities to compliment your stay at the Ameal Wine & Tourism Terroir.  These include : kayaking down the River Lima or surfing on the beautiful beaches only 20 kilometres away, mountain walks, bicycle rides and country rambling along the well known “eco via” which follows over 40 kilometres of the River Lima.  Various lively country markets and fairs as well as a selection of excellent restaurants make up part of this unique part of the Lima Valley
